Since the opening of our flagship store in 2014, Sedgars Home has since become a household name throughout South Africa. Popular for our quality furniture and opulent lifestyle items, Sedgars Home offers comfortable, in-vogue products that are not only exclusive to us but assist our customers in creating a designer statement within their homes.
The original Sedgars store opened in Vereeniging in 1980 and was only 50 sq.m of retail space with a modest staff complement of 20 employees. Over the years Sedgars Home has grown to include several department stores that expand over 7000 sq.m and a large team of employees who are experts in what they do.
Our philosophy has always been to continually innovate, both from a product and a process perspective. As a proudly South African company, we understand the challenges facing business in Africa and aim to create a balance between the imperatives of profit and social responsibility without lowering our standards, but raising them instead.
